Master Thomas R. Tamez

Was Born In Santa Ana ,CA

 

He entered the US Navy in 1967 and did 2 terms in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged with the rank of ABF3.

 

He began studying and received His first black belt in Shotokan Karate while in Japan.

 

He went to study Polynesian American Fighting under Master David Nuuhiwa.

Master Tamez then studied Shaolin Kung Fu under Master John Yee in San Franscisco.

 

He has dedicated to studying and perfecting his skills in a variety of styles from American Kenpo under Master Fred Brewster to Tai Chi Chuan and Outlaw Tai Chi Chuan , a style which he holds an 8th degree black sash under  Master Jay Kekina of Hawaii.

 

Tom AKA " TT Lightning" studied and instructed Lima Lama under World Famous Grand Master Tu'umamao ( Tino) Tuiolosega and in 2004 was personally presented his 8th degree Black Belt by Grand Master Tuiolosega and his son Senior Master Rudolph ( Rudy)  Tuiolosega.

 

Master Tamez has trained and protected some of our most important members of society, Govenors,Senators, and a variety of Celebrity Talent.

 

Master Tom Tamez has owned, operated and consulted with some of the world's Most Successful Martial Arts Studios , Security, and Self Defense Companies for over 30 years.

 

He Co-founded and operated Security Operations Consultants (S.O.C.)

with a group of Special Forces Partners. S.O.C. trained anti-terrorism and hostage rescue to Law Enforcement Groups as well as private sector companies and individuals.

 

His training has been successfully utilized by body guards, police, military and others in their mutual self-defense for decades. I was personally trained by him to do bodyguard work as his assistant.

 

It has been an honor and a priviledge to be his student and makiwara since 1982. He has made me search for the truth and not just handed it to me. 

He likes to see me work for it. It took a while to catch on completely that he was waiting for me to ask for information rather than just flood me with too much. Even then, he was obtuse with his answers creating another journey for me. After much reflection, I have considered without a journey there is no enlightenment. A True Master just points a direction for your next adventure.
